The PXD Plastics PVC Damp Proof Course [Non Sabs] 110mm x 40m x 120um is a flexible PVC membrane laid into masonry to form a barrier against rising damp. At a slim 110mm width it is ideal for single-skin walls, narrow sills and tight cavity closures where a full-width course would be wasteful.

Key Features

  • Damp barrier that blocks moisture rising from the ground into brickwork.
  • Flexible PVC that lays flat and follows the wall line without cracking.
  • Narrow 110mm width suited to single-brick and half-brick coursing.
  • Weather resistant against moisture, chemicals and UV radiation.
  • Lightweight roll that is easy to carry and unroll on site.
  • Non-SABS grade for projects where SABS certification is not required.
  • Long 40 metre roll that covers a run of walling from one roll.

Specifications

  • Width: 110mm
  • Length: 40 metres
  • Thickness: 120 microns
  • Material: PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
  • Colour: Typically black or dark grey
  • Certification: Non-SABS

Typical Uses & Applications

  • Single-skin garden walls where a narrow 110mm course matches the brick width exactly.
  • Windowsills and door thresholds that need a slim damp barrier tucked under the coping.
  • Half-brick boundary walls on residential plots and additions.
  • Cavity closures and reveals around openings in narrow brickwork.
  • Freestanding piers and pillars where a wide course would overhang the joint.
  • Renovation coursing when re-laying a damaged section of a thin wall.
  • Braai and planter walls built in single-brick construction.

Usage Tip

Bed the course on a fresh, level mortar line and keep it flat and crease-free. Where two lengths meet, overlap the joint by at least 150mm so damp cannot track through the gap.

A tidy damp course keeps rising moisture out of the wall and protects the finish above it for years.
