Eco Rubber is a South African range of liquid rubber waterproofing — a flexible, rubberised coating you brush or roll on to seal roofs, gutters, walls and other surfaces against water. It cures into a seamless, elastic membrane that moves with the surface instead of cracking, which is what makes rubberised coatings so popular for leaking roofs and problem areas. Below is the full Eco Rubber range, what each product is for, and how to choose.
Eco Rubber is a water-based, rubberised liquid waterproofing coating. Once applied and cured it forms a continuous, flexible rubber membrane with no joints or seams for water to get through. Because it stays elastic, it bridges hairline cracks and copes with the expansion and contraction a roof goes through between hot days and cold nights — the usual reason rigid coatings fail.

The basics are the same across the range: clean the surface so it's free of dust, loose material and oil; prime or dampen where the product instructions call for it; then apply in coats — usually two or more — letting each dry before the next. Over cracks and joints, a reinforcing membrane is embedded between coats for extra strength. Always follow the instructions on the product you buy, and apply in dry weather so each coat can cure properly.
It suits most common roofs — concrete, IBR and corrugated sheeting, fibre-cement and tiles — as well as gutters, parapets and flat slabs. The surface just needs to be clean and sound before you start.
Most rubberised waterproofing is applied in two or more coats, with each coat left to dry before the next. Exact coats, coverage and drying times depend on the product and the weather — check the instructions on the product you buy and apply in dry conditions.
Choose the DIY Kit for smaller repairs and once-off jobs — it comes with what you need to seal a problem area yourself. Choose the Contractors size for larger roofs where you get better value per litre.
Yes — these coatings are designed to be the exposed waterproofing layer on a roof. For the longest life, apply the correct number of coats and reinforce cracks and joints as the product instructions describe.
Eco Rubber is a water-based system, which generally means lower odour and easier water clean-up than solvent-based products. See the individual product pages for specific details.
